Sunset in Noosa with Gabby Purcel

I spent a warm afternoon in Noosa’s stunning Tea Tree Bay with Gabby Purcell from Chic Brisbane, kicking things off with a long walk through the trails before finding the perfect spots to shoot. Gabby’s deep brown eyes and freckles caught the golden light of the most spectacular sunset, creating a natural glow that was impossible to ignore.

This shoot was all about simplicity and authenticity. Armed with just my Canon EOS 3, a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L II, and a 100mm f/2.8 L IS lens, I shot entirely on film—completely unretouched. There’s something timeless about capturing moments this way, and Gabby’s effortless presence in front of the camera brought it all together.

We started with a bold red bikini from Ark Swimwear, which popped beautifully against the warm tones of the beach. Next, Gabby switched into a vibrant, playful set from Mon Ete that matched the colorful energy of the late afternoon. Finally, we wrapped things up with a green striped set from local Noosa label Zulu & Zephyr—a nod to the laid-back coastal vibe.

Gabby’s professionalism, ease, and charm made this one of those shoots that reminds you why you love doing what you do. Each frame feels genuine, capturing not just the scene but the story behind it.
