The Bay of Bliss with Ruby

After staying with Tahlia, I thought about where to shoot with Ruby from Busy Models. Noosa, whilst beautiful, was going to be a tough ask with large crowds gathering for the weekend. After a brief chat with Ruby and my good friend Tianna whose help finding places to shoot was a great help (honestly, thank you!). We chose Coolum Beach as our first location. I wanted to do two spots that morning; the tide was high, so with limited beachfront, we did two quick looks before driving just down the road to First Bay. For some reason, I thought the name was Bay of Bliss, which is why you’ll see that’s the title.

I think it’s an excellent name for the spot we chose; First Bay doesn’t quite have the same ring. But it was quiet and beautiful, and the light was fantastic. I aimed to knock these shoots out relatively quickly, but after five shoots and over 1000 km’s in driving, I was a little slow and slightly tired. I lost two rolls of film, one forgetting to adjust my settings from manual to aperture priority and overexposing a whole roll by three stops, and another to snapping inside the camera. We made things work.

I’m thrilled with the results here. I felt like this told a good story that has much to do with Ruby’s wardrobe choices and great movement. You can book her through Busy Models here, or if you click on her name, you can go to her Instagram; I highly recommend working with her; she’s got talent, as you’ll see below.

The dark blue string bikini is from Ark Swimwear, bright blue is from VDM The Label, the colourful option is from Bamba Swim, and the other options are Ruby’s own (as I said, great style!)
