Jumping into the fog with Ella Cervetto

Another shoot with Ella Cervetto, and another set that felt like it made itself.

We’ve been working together for a couple of years now, and I love that kind of rhythm, (you can see the last series here!) — there’s trust, flow, and an understanding that builds with time. This one came together on a foggy morning in Cronulla, and we got lucky. The fog rolled in just before we started, softening everything and giving us this strange, cinematic stillness. Couldn’t have planned it better if we tried.

Big thanks to Sav for assisting and helping keep things smooth, and to Ella — always — for her patience, energy, and generosity with every frame. After we wrapped, we grabbed dinner and talked about everything and nothing. That part’s never in the photos, but it matters.

Wardrobe was Ella’s own:

Shot entirely on 35mm film, using a Canon SLR and modern lenses. No retouching, no AI smoothing, no filler — just light, texture, and the moment as it was.
