Maddie Thomson from Chic at Little Manly

I reached out to Chic Management a little while back and organised this shoot with Maddie Thomson. With a perfect Spring start, I was finding a few warmer afternoons to shoot. In new and old places, I wanted to take things a step further, tracking tide times, using more props, and spending more time creating a mood.

This is one of my favourites from this year! Maddie and I met in Little Manly with help from my dear photographer friend Billie-Jean. We shot until the sun was low and the winds were howling before heading across in the dark to Castlerock for the two final looks. I’m always looking to make sure my shoots feel complete. If the wind screams, it’s much harder to concentrate and feel emotions that aren’t just the general feeling of “freezing”.

I’m glad to have these out now that I’ve had some extra time to upload to the blog.

If you want to work with Maddie, you can reach out to her agency, Chic, or if you’re a fan of these images, find her on Instagram.
