Dusk with Allegra Ayyar in Byron

This shoot in Byron Bay with Allegra Ayyar nearly didn’t happen! It was a gamble with the weather; it rained so heavily over Byron the night before I wasn’t sure we’d even be able to shoot. The forecast hinted at parting rainclouds, but the uncertainty lingered right up until the afternoon.

Thankfully, patience paid off, and we were rewarded with a moody, dramatic sunset that added an incredible atmosphere to the shoot. The light brought out the rich colours of the scenery, and Allegra moved with such grace that every frame felt effortless.

The styling Allegra brought to the session was spot on—it complemented the vision perfectly, enhancing the depth and mood of the images. Her professionalism and natural talent made the entire process a joy, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Beach chair was gifted to me by SunnyLife Australia.

I drove through the night to get back to Sydney, and normally, such a task would put a dampener on such a shoot, but it’s easily one of my favourites of the year. I’m thrilled to share these images finally. Sometimes, the best shoots come out of unpredictable circumstances, and this was definitely one of those times.
