A Road Trip with Anna Chernyakova to Lobster Beach
Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of heading to Lobster Beach with Anna Chernyakova for a road trip and shoot. Located on the Central Coast, about 90 minutes from Sydney, Lobster Beach is a serene and secluded spot that holds a special place in my heart. It was one of the very first locations I shot at when I started beach photography, and revisiting it with Anna felt like coming full circle.
This wasn’t the first time I’ve worked with Anna, and it was wonderful to shoot together again. Her natural poise and effortless energy made every moment feel organic and fun. You can still see our first shoot here.
We started with a casual look—a classic Polo T-shirt—before switching into a bikini from Jaded London. After a quick break to enjoy some fresh fruit, we transitioned into a vibrant piece from Bali brand Kiss’n’Thrill. The highlight of the shoot came next: inflating a floating couch from Sunny Life who I am forever grateful for sending me quite a few things for the summer, which is especially great to have some fun in the water and create some playful, dynamic shots.
As the afternoon unfolded, Anna slipped into a Jaded London look as the wind picked up before changing into a bikini from VDM The Label and then finally finishing in a stunning red bikini from Fae Swim. To cap off the day, we shot in a pair of classic Nudie jeans as we journeyed back to the car.
Lobster Beach provided the perfect backdrop with its tranquil waters and soft sands. The light played beautifully with Anna’s natural movements and the curated wardrobe, creating a collection of images I’m thrilled to share.
All images were shot entirely on 35mm film using my trusted Canon EOS 3 and the 24-70mm f/2.8L II lens, with additional close-ups captured on the 100mm macro. This created the raw, timeless quality you see here, highlighting the beauty of the day as it unfolded.
For those interested in the process behind the images, I use 35mm film and shoot primarily on the Canon EOS 3 with the 24-70mm f/2.8L II lens. Film adds an unmatched authenticity and texture to every shot, perfectly complementing the natural beauty of locations like Lobster Beach.
